WATSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

WATSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND IN MEMORY OF DALLAS, HAZEL, AND LELAND WATSON


The Hazel Watson Scholarship Foundation was established through private contributions as a tribute to Mrs. Hazel Watson, one of Coles County's most prominent community leaders. The Hazel Watson Scholarship is offered to a full or part-time student who is currently accepted and enrolled at Eastern Illinois University for a minimum of six (6) semester hours of instruction with a major of study in business, political science, or theatre with a preference given to the theatrical lighting. Other criteria include a 2.5 GPA, financial need and quality of character. Recipient must be a resident of Illinois, with priority given to Coles County residents. Recipient must also submit a one-page personal letter setting forth the reason for applying and stating future career goals. Fall semester only; recipient shall be eligible to apply for and receive the award on additional time if selection criteria continues to be met. Both graduate and undergraduate level students are eligible to apply either full or part-time.
