The amount of this scholarship is a minimum of $500. To be eligible, the applicant must complete an application form, attach three character reference letters, submit transcript of courses completed, and a biographical statement. Which includes educational background, financial need, and other pertinent information. Applications can be obtained in your local guidance office or by contacting Ms. Paula Williams. American Business Women’s Association scholarships are awarded on a point system including: (1) academic achievement (2.4-4.0 GPA); (2) character references; (3) biographical information; (4) community and school activities; (5) future goals; (6) presentation of information. The amount of scholarship varies and is only available to Shelby County residents. Applications are available from guidance counselors at Shelby County schools after January 1. MCCLAIN (PAULINE AND RILEY) LOAN (Edgar and Vermilion County)


This is awarded to a high school graduate in Edgar County or Vermilion County or a graduate from an accredited college or university in the United States. Qualifications are based on financial need; and field of study should be agriculture, nursing, teaching or graduate students who are studying law, medicine, or dentistry. Loan is interest free. Renewable each year based on academic progress and demonstrated need. Pay back is four years following graduation. Contact the Trust Department of the Citizens' National Bank in Paris, IL.


MILITARY ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIPS


Scholarships are available for students wishing to commit themselves to military service as well as to further their education. Further information can be secured from the representative of the particular service of interest. Also, each of the service academies has scholarship programs, which are generous but difficult to obtain. NATIONAL GUARD GRANT


Men and women who are members of the Illinois Army National Guard or the Illinois Air National Guard may receive tuition and fees at an Illinois two or four-year College or university. One year of service in the Illinois National Guard entitles one to 100% tuition and some fees for four years in an Illinois state-supported educational institution.
